Organisations There
are many Rescue centres in the UK that have a huge selection of unwanted
crossbreed and pedigree dogs in need of loving homes. These Rescue centres do
amazing work and without them there would be many dogs put to sleep everyday. Most
people know not to buy a puppy from a pet shop. Pet shops that sell puppies
rely on the impulse buy of people who see that “cute puppy in the window”.
Inexperienced staff selling dogs they know nothing about to people who have
not considered the time and commitment involved in caring for a dog. Thanks to
pet shops, many of these dogs end up in rescue centres. Millions
of dogs are produced every year, and millions are killed in pounds and some
rescue centres every year. If 'impulse buying' from pet shops is a problem,
how many designer dogs are adding to this problem being sold as "latest
must have items" or fashion accessories? Below
is a list of Rescue centres throughout the UK: - The

- www.rspca.org.uk If
you are interested in rescuing a particular breed, via that breeds club/s they
will run a Rescue Section, in which they rescue and rehome dogs within the
breed. If you use a search engine to search under the name of your chosen
breed and put in “Club” you should have at least one breed club should
come up. If you contact the secretary of the Club they will be able to advise
you about your chosen breed and the Rescue section contact details.
